Saona Island Private Full Day Tour with 3 Different Beaches 

We will pick you up in a comfortable minibus with A/C directly from the lobby of your hotel or outside your condo/apartment. From there we will start our adventure driving till the village of Bayahibe through the scenic route, surrounded by never ending fields of sugar cane. After around 1 hour drive we will reach the fishing village of Bayahibe and here we will get aboard a brand-new speedboat to start our adrenaline ride to Saona. In this special and exclusive tour we will visit 3 different beaches! Plus we’ll make a stop to see the mangroves and another one at the natural pool.

With your life jacket on, get ready for a thrilling 45 minutes speedboat ride through the crystalline blue waters of the Caribbean Sea! Saona Island is located at the southeastern tip of the Dominican Republic, and is only reachable by boat. Once arrived in Saona our first stop will be at “Playa Abanico”. This is the beach where most of the tourists visiting Saona go on a tour, so during the day becomes pretty crowded. We will visit this beach in the morning when most of the people doing the tour in catamaran have not arrived yet and will take advantage of this idyllic speck of sand and palm trees to take some picturesque photos. We will stop here for 20-25 minutes around.

Our second stop will be at “Playa El Toro”, an unspoiled and virgin beach where tourists usually don’t stop. Here we will have a drink all together while exploring the beach and you can have a bath in the blue waters and let nature embrace your senses. We will spend here around 30 minutes.

From there, we will go back to our speedboat to move again and reach now the small village of Mano Juan and its beach. Mano Juan is the only inhabited portion of Saona Island. Only about 3% of tourists who come to the island have the opportunity to visit the village, because the major tour operators that sell the tour by catamaran do not include it in their programs. Today around 300 people live in Mano Juan even if the community got electricity only in the recent years thanks to solar panels. Here we will visit also the Sea Turtle Sanctuary and learn how the locals are now protecting the different species, and will have a tasty lunch, buffet style, in a reserved area. We’ll spend here around 2 hours and you’ll have all the time to enjoy the beach, explore, relax and swim in the blue waters. (If you wanna do some snorkeling please bring with you the equipment).

In the afternoon the adventure goes on. After leaving the island we will have 2 more extra stops. A quick one of around 10 minutes to see the beautiful mangroves grown in this area, ideal home for hundreds of species of birds, fish, reptiles and crustaceans.

The second stop will be longer at the natural pool of “Palmilla”, an incredible sandbar in the middle of the Caribbean Sea famous for being the home of the giant starfish. Here we will have a last toast all together surrounded by the most beautiful scenery a tropical paradise can offer you. After that, back to the speed boat for the last ride till Bayahibe where the transportation we’ll be waiting to take us to Punta Cana.

• For hotels located in Uvero Alto, Cap Cana and close to the airport are required 5 extra dollars per person due to the distance from Punta Cana/Bavaro.
• This tour is not indicated for pregnant women.

In case a customer after booking a tour wants to cancel or is not more able to take part on it we will provide the full refund directly on the card used for the online reservation if the cancellation is required BY EMAIL within 24 hours before the starting of the tour.

Cancellation must be required BY EMAIL, (or by text in case) in order to have a written proof showing the exact date and time the customer asks to cancel. We will not accept cancellations by phone.

If the cancellation is required less than 24 hours before the starting of the tour due to any reasons (such as illness, change of personal circumstancesm, etc) and the customer is not able to reschedule, we will keep the deposit paid in advance or the 50% of the total price if the customers has paid in full.

In case the tour itself is cancelled due to weather conditions or other not ordinary reasons, the customer can choose if reschedule the tour or receive the full refund.

This policy DOES NOT apply for large groups of 10+ people where the cancellation is required at least a week in advance to get the full refund.
